I've got a site that's doing quite well and is finally, after a couple of years, on the first page of Google search results for my chosen phrases.
I've recently changed web host for any new sites I create. My dilemna now is do I change this site over to my new host and new IP address? It's slightly cheaper, has more features and makes admin much easier so, all things being equal I'd definitely move it.
Or, to put it another way, how important is the IP address in a site's ranking?
And, if it was to have a negative effect, could I simply move it back to recover my position?
Anyone know about how Google and other SEs work with IP addresses?
