hello, I have been trying to find a solution to my site. I need a new database driven ecommerce site w/custom features.<br />

What is the best way to do this? <br />

I dont know how to create it myself since it needs to be created php & mysql .<br />
<br />
Do I need to BUY a cart to customize it? Or hire a coder? or...get a template? OR, get a hosting company with the cart & mysql with it?<br />

There is one main pre-built ecommerce application out there that you can use http//www.oscommerce.com it's template driven and you can buy templates at major places like http//www.templatemonster.com

You can also add many custom features, also has a lot of payment processors on it.

For shopping cart, there are some free stuff. You can go paypal and request a shopping cart button. Cut and paste the codes generated, then you get it integorated in your site.

But, for some thing special. Like you want create your own cart list, such as product_id, description, related picture links, price, and quantity, and tracking inventory. You have to create your own tables in MySQL, and have programs to read or write records for Web page generation. Then you need a programmer. All it means if there is something special for your Web service (Application).
