Hi.This may sound pretty silly, but has anyone noticed that if you typelink: http://www.ancestralbranches.comResults: 22compared to link:http://www.ancestralbranches.comResults: 11Ok, so which is the correct way? Or, does Google count both? Curious,MelanieOn the results: 11, when you get to the end of the search, how many does it come back with when you tell it toniclude all ommitted results?Hi.In the version that gives 11 listings, there is no option to ...show similiar pages .I forgot the exact wording, but I know what you mean. But, it doesn't show up when I do that search.MelanieIt doesn't say to click any where for "omitted results".Hope that helps.MelOkies, I'm thinking of allinurl:Mine's the opposite... when I do...link:http://www.reptilerooms.com (419)link: http://www.reptilerooms.com (92)So, with the space I'm getting less (where you got more). I'm not sure what the difference is though. BWM? SEO-Guy? Can either of you shed any light on this?Yeah that is a good question and I have noticed in the past as well. Unfortunately I do not have an answer for this one. Maybe SEO-Guy or someone else knows. I usually always enter it without a space for my URLs. I can say one thing though. When I click the backlink button in the Google toolbar which redirects to the google search page with the query already in place, it does it without the space. So I am assuming the proper way has no space. Here is the backword links button I am referring to:melaniejk wrote:Thank you Bompa. It is weird, huh. But, you are right I can't confirm the others. Have a great day.MelanieOkies, I think I figured it out...Code: [ Select ]I gave it a try too, but I think what's happening is that when you type the space after the link, then what you're actually doing is SEARCHING for the words "link:" and "www.yoursite.com". You can tell its doing this because the words "link" are "www.yoursite.com" are bolded in the search results.e.g. one of the results for "link: [Dead Link] - 70k - 6 Feb 2004 - Cached - Similar pages [/b]I think pompei may have figured it out! Good job
