Just for the record: pings really aren't a good way to tell if a host is up or down. All it tells you is that there's a NIC answering, not that the services running on the box are running. Coversely, many devices will drop ICMP requests when they get busy so you may *not* get ping responses from an otherwise healthy box.A much better way to see if your box is up is to test specific services such as HTTP, SSH, or POP3 (list based on whatever you need to ensure is running). These tests generally telnet to the appropriate port and check to see if something picks up the phone. That's a better test because not only does it prove the connection and the NIC, it also proves that the service in question isn't cratered.http://www.siteuptime.com/http://www.host-tracker.com/I registered on http://www.siteuptime.com/ bu still didn't receive activation email.http://host-tracker.com/ I can't use to contact support becouse it's asking for activate email for reports...I use http://www.pingdom.comAlthough they are not free I was able to signup while they were having a WHT promotion; giving away free monitoring away for a year, $109 value.Otherwise what I previously used is uppanel.com which is free and is a great uptime monitoring service and if you don't want to spend money, I would highly recommend them. You could just ping it?lol, your funny Nishi :Dya, siteuptime is well known. used their services once. free subscription that is ... five stars from me.host-tracker is free and I personally have been using them for a large amount of domains for a long time.check out dnstuff.comcheck out dnstuff.com
