I would'nt think that any domain name gets any special presidence, just a shorter domain is better for visitors.

if .es is default for spain, i'd get that, as here in the UK we have .co.uk's and .com.uk's and I always prefer .co.uk.
well basically i have a travel site about a location and that site is in english and is a .com so the translated sites will have the relating domain to their country.

so anyone know of a good site to buy from?

thanks
surely someone has got a european domain at some time, anyone?
Dotster.com and 1and1.es do .es domains. I have used 1and1.co.uk for many years now and found them to be quite good.
