Ok everyone? Well there is this show called "Full Metal Alchemist" idk if you have ever heard of it or not, but i have questions about Alchemy (in the show and real life). I know it may not be exactly like Full metal alchemist, but its got to be something related to it right? Im just curious....is there really a gate? Can u really bring someone back to life? If you tried to bring someone back but failed would you loose limbs?or your entire body? And is it possible to make things with alchemy? Does equivalent exchange exist? *ex* I need some explaining. Can you guys tell me info on it plz? Or send me some links to places i can read more about it? Thanx<br />

"real" alchemy is the predecessor to chemistry, and sort of the predecessor to medicine.. It was primarily concerned with turning base metals to gold, but some alchemists also searched for immortality potions"real" alchemy doesn't have anything to do with bring people back to life. some necromancy does.

Alchemists are old scientists who attempted to turn one element into another

They're pretty famous in literature for their unending attempts to turn various things into gold

Alchemy never worked, as changing one element to another takes enormous amounts of energy ect ect, I believe it has been done in extremely small quantites using nuclear crap but I have no source for that

Another use for the word Alchemist is a maker of potions.

Equvilent exchange is based off a fair scientific principle; That energy cannoy be created or destroyed, only changed from one form to another

Sadly, all the amazing things Edward does with his 'alchemy' is pure fiction

Enjoy the show! but remember it's only a show 3

This is the main thing about it. It was primarily concerned with turning base metals to gold, but some alchemists also searched for immortality potions"real" alchemy doesn't have anything to do with bring people back to life. So it is very necessary.

Alchemy is something like 'architecture', it means a lot of things and can be done in many different ways. Alchemy is often seen as transmuting bare metals into gold, which is only one of the very advanced paths of Alchemy. It is more about mastery over self and mastery over energies.

Alchemy was actually about the control of age.

It was believed back then that as metals, such as lead aged, it would eventually turn into gold naturally and over the course of hundreds or thousands of years. Alchemy was about accelerating the aging process.

Alchemy was also about slowing the aging process in man, a search for immortality.

Alchemy was an ancient tradition of sacred chemistry used to discern the spiritual and temporal nature of reality, its structure, laws, and functions. Alchemy is often considered a predecessor to the modern science of chemistry.

Speculative chemistry is an old practice covered in puzzle and mystery. Its specialists principally looked to transform lead into gold, a journey that has caught the creative impulses of individuals for a large number of years. Be that as it may, the objectives of speculative chemistry went a long ways past just making some brilliant chunks. At the point when a base, or basic, metal, for example, lead was discovered, it was thought to just be a profoundly and physically youthful type of higher metals, for example, gold.
