it can be done with .htaccess file and some PHP coding.Of course you will need cPanel for creating unlimited subdomain (or not?it depends your members count)

o_o making a subdomain for each member xD o god <_<U use vbseo and it will make something like www.site.com/username.html <--- i think this is better and it helps you to seoize your site for google and other search engines also the idea of having a subdomain for each member is alittle foolish don't get offended about this is just an opinion

this can only be done if you own your own server sadly, it requires unlimited sub domain access and apache httpd.conf file.
