RFX Networks - out of business?

RFX Networks in Quebec, Canada created several popular Linux security tools (including the APF firewall and SIM process monitor). They have positive posts on this forum about those tools and their server administration services.

Their domain name rfxnetworks.com expired on 28th December and no longer points to their web site.

An acquaintance complains that he ordered and paid their Advanced Security Package some time ago, the service has not been rendered, he cannot get any response to his emails and says their phone number goes to an answer phone.

Does anyone have any news on this company?

Is there an alternative download site for APF et al?not really familiar with them, aside from seeing the name here and there.

there is this site: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.r-fx.org/This">http://www.r-fx.org/This</a><!-- m --> is pretty known with them right now. Lack of contact / orders has been going on for months. One time when Ryan did reply he was pretty rude to the client in my opinion when the client wanted a refund for services not provided.. Do a search.I dont see why management clients accept payment then work. Sure you have the possibility of getting screwed but i dont know, i dont feel right taking payment then working. Its work then pay.So they are officially out of business? Are there any reliable mirrors of the scripts?also seems to be <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.r-fx.ca/">http://www.r-fx.ca/</a><!-- m -->

not sure if these are mirrors of their downed site or an older version. maybe not connected at all. lolThis is pretty known with them right now. Lack of contact / orders has been going on for months. One time when Ryan did reply he was pretty rude to the client in my opinion when the client wanted a refund for services not provided.. Do a search.Mmm you're right. I searched for "rfx" and "rfxnetworks" on here, plus various Google searches before posting, but with nothing relevant coming up.However, searching for "RFXN" on here does indeed yield a few threads as far back as May 2006 about paying for a service not rendered, no communication from RFX and trouble getting a refund.Ryan's username on here is RFXN. He last posted in November, concerning APF/BFD.Well to be ohnest you dont need rfxnetworks to install APF, BFD, SIM LES etc Only takes a few minutes in SSHI thought Ryan would call it quits after those guys hacked his emails a year or two ago and posted all his clients root logins from service emails all over full disclosure but he is still around. A lot of people still use their scripts including me so that would suck if they went down for goodFrom my understanding, that domain is not being used long ago anymore. This <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.r-fx.org/">http://www.r-fx.org/</a><!-- m --> is the one.NetA lot of links on their site lead to rfxnetworks.com though.A lot of links on their site lead to rfxnetworks.com though.
in most cases you should be able to substitute the rfxnetworks.com with r-fx.org and the pages should load.the .org is the correct address known for a long time.rfxnetworks.com is working fine nowWell to be ohnest you dont need rfxnetworks to install APF, BFD, SIM LES etc

No, but you need them to continue providing and support APF, BFD, etc. When I saw the .com go down I grabbed the latest version of each, becuase while APF may make me pull my hair out, its a pretty simple and quick firewall solution.

AlexIf you use Cpanel & WHM then <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.configserver.com/">http://www.configserver.com/</a><!-- m --> has some neat scripts for handling firewall within WHM, good for newbies. If you use Cpanel & WHM then <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.configserver.com/">http://www.configserver.com/</a><!-- m --> has some neat scripts for handling firewall within WHM, good for newbies.

The firewall (CSF) now also supports systems without cPanel.heh the license key on their helpdesk link has expired and their ssl gives me warnings...heh the license key on their helpdesk link has expired and their ssl gives me warnings... and their forums are down as well....which is really needed.... I would even set it up and host it :)
