[RESOLVED] Server Root Directory for links

In my site I've got links like all of these:

<a href=http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/"http://www.yahoo.com/">yahoo

<a href=http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/"../picture.jpg">picture

<a href=http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/"/saywhatnow.php">what did i say?

<a href=http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/"?blah=what">what?

and they all work just fine. But is there some way I could link to a file in the root directory of my server, without using "http://www.------.com/" ?<a href=http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archive/index.php/"/saywhatnow.php">what did i say?
That's a root reference.wow... I feel stupid now :( ... Thanks for letting me know.
