Just a few pointers - anyone ?

Hi, this is my first post, i hope i can make some friends here, looks like a great place.

I have just started a new forum and was wondering of anyone has any pointers or suggestions etc. in how to get some active users to my site, i can not advertise it in normal ways for certain reasons.

I am not going to post the URL to the site as i am in no way a spammer and dont want to get banned before i start here.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
