Hi guys,

If I use a Nulled vB and leave all copyright text in the footer, how can my host/ users/ vB company discover that I'm using a nulled vB ?!

By simply reporting it to vbulletin.com/piracy.php

I have seen a lot of things that gave boards away, for example people uploading DGT releases and leave the NFO or keygen files in the vbulletin root directory.

Your host simply needs to check the php files for license information, and if in doubt --> vbulletin.com/piracy.php

Some boards you can just tell that they use nulled vBulletins by looking at them.

Yeah, I understand that, but here is my case :
- I wouldn't link to any illegal content in my forums,
- There will be no illegal discussions in my forums ( no warez, np hacking, .. )
- I'll delete all nuller files (NFO, keygen, ...)
- I'll leave all copyright texts.
Is it possible to discover it in this case, and if yes how much time it will takes for it to be discovered?
I know it's kind of crazy questions, but I need to host my forum in a non-offshore hosting for some times until my offshore hosting be back!
Thank you guys for your time ;)

It doesn´t matter if you lik to any illegal content, have illegal discussions, delete all NFO and DIZ and keygens, leave all copyrights untouched.

Eventually someone will stumble upon that board and have the strange feeling it might not be legit. Then he reports you and you, respectively your host will receive a letter from Pirate Reports with something along the lines of the DMCA crap and your host will shut the site down.

Been there, done that. Until i decided to not be shy and buy a license, so i won´t have to move hosts every once and so often. You might be able to run it for a while on some hoster that´s non-offshore, but eventually some piglet will come and report you...take my word for it :)

If what I know is right, there is no sure fire way of vbull`detecting, they simply look @your domain name/URL and see if it matches the ones on the database they have of legit customers. if no match is found, they take it that it's nulled/stolen/not yours!

I would like to know though, if I could purchase a licence from them for a cheaper price because I will be hanging up my nulled-forum so to speak! lol
You guys think we will get discount for going legit? Lmao

.DIZ stands for Description In Zipfile and is an ASCII text file containing a description of the programs included in the same ZIP archive. This information will typically be in a file called FILE_ID.DIZ.

There is another method, simply load up one of the JS files in the clientscript folder, and the script will load in plain text as when you view the php file in a text editor, and most nulled releases will leave out a serial number and have a note to who/what group nulled it. Of course with a keygen this method can be made to look legit but makes no difference if it gets reported.
