Creating forum and blog for my website...?

Hello all, I wanna create a forum and a blog for my website... i hav these questions<br />
1. which one is better for forum "phpbb" or "vbulletin"?<br />
2. can i customize either of these to suite my website theme easily?<br />
3. any other forum available ready other than thes two which is better than the either?<br />
4. What if i want to use JSP and servlets instead of PHP?<br />

finally, which blog is best keeping theme customization in mind? i only know "word press", any better?<br />

and how much would web-hosting for these cost normally?<br />

1. most people agree it's VB, but VB is not free.
2. yes, but easy is dependent your abilities.
3. I use simplemachines extensively (www.simplemachines.org) and like it much better than phpbb, and it's free.

Wordpress is hands down, the best blog app. Don't even look for alternatives.

VB is the best. You need a web host providing forum and blog tools for free.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost.
They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
