I'm looking for a free or cheap webhost to move my Joomla website to from my localhost. I want a webhost that doesn't use Fantastico as its only method of installation? Any suggestions?<br />

Hi,

Godaddy is cheap and good quality but if you are looking for a free host then I would use http//jgiff.net .

It has the fantastico style installer but you can also use te ftp if required

Good Luck

Bluehost.com

Less than 10 bucks a month. After you sign up, request a shell account and install that way. I am running over 20 Joomla! sites on my account. Works great.

Take a look at http//bluehost-service.atspace.com . I?m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. They offer both Joomla and fantastico. You can use whichever you want.

I recommend Dreamhost http//www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

They're the best for Joomla. They offer both automatic OneClick Install (like Fantastico) and manual install of Joomla

1. You get a free domain from them.
2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space and increasing
3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth and increasing
4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host multiple sites on a single account.
5. Their standard price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly)
but you can use the Promo Code DNA (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount
6. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month)

To make a website you need a domain and webhosting. The best way to buy a domain for free is to purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift .Bluehost is the best one

Web Host for Jooma.
I've at one-time or another had accounts with most of the main web hosts for Joomla as well as worked on many more. The best I've seen for responsiveness to support issues as well as features and uptime is Host Gator. Check out this article for more info.

Glenn
