SSL authentication means?

Do SSL authentication includes authentication of servers of the person which the site belongs (not the host)<br />

Services like comodo authenticates websites through its service giving assurance of 10,000-million assuration but i dont know what are their criteria<br />

These sites are comodo authenticated, now say me do that mean the address in that certificate is authenticated by comodo?<br />
