I think maybe a cool addon would be to put a shoutbox on the forum it would makes things look better

There's no need for it, I think. If you need help for vBulletin, mods or anything else you post on forums. I can't think what can we post on the shoutbox.

Maybe just spamming since there is nothing else to talk there.

Requests & slows down the forums;

we tried IRC - nobody used it.

we can try again with irc but i think that in the forum should appear a button to a new page with pjirc this is great because user don't have to download mirc or another program... we can connect to irc from here and with our user names

Exactly, if there was any need for SPAM, there would be already a SPAM section.

the shoutbox can be used for mods/ admin/ vips etc and not just registered users i dont know but its overall i don't like the shoutbox i dont use it in my forums either
