Paid advertising?

Hi there,

As you may know, etology will not allow us to advertise through their network, which sucks, because they are the best offshore ad networks out there. I received several messages about paid advertising here on vbteam.

Do you think we should allow for something like this? It would allow us to get enough money for the server.

Yeah, I'd put that into TOS. Is there any script for vbulletin for automated advertising (with stuff like no. of clicks, etc.) ?

I was also thinking about the 'Donators' usergroup, who would get an ad-free version of vBTEAM. People would love to have something next to their nick to show that they've donated + they wouldn't have ads + more money for the server

There used to be a hack to integrate this (phpadsnew old name) into vBulletin.

Just make sure to keep admin/staff and other important usergroups away from advertisements. Also, whats up with etology?

They've banned us because of some old post, where I asked to click on ads from time to time -.-

I was also thinking about going back to the old domain (vbteam.org), so that they may not notice us with their 'banned' database... but I'm not sure. OpenX is good; I am installing it just now. I don't think that integration will be needed. I will just copy current skin and delete all ad script from there.
