Syria to Russia Put your missiles on our soil
By The Associated Press and Haaretz
Service August 22,2008
Russian media on Thursday quoted Syrian President Bashar Assad as saying ahead of a two day visit to Moscow that Syria was ready to negotiate hosting Russian surface-to-surface Iskander missiles on its soil, which Moscow says are capable of penetrating any missile defense.

Syria is interested in purchasing Russia's Pantsyr-S1 air defense missile system, the BUK-M1 surface-to-air medium-range missile system, military aircraft and other hardware, the Russian news agency Interfax quoted a diplomatic source as saying.

According to Russian media, Assad offered to host the Russian missiles as a response to a deal signed by Washington and Warsaw this week to deploy elements of a U.S. missile defense system in Poland, which has aggravated Moscow's relations with the West.
Assad's visit is likely to become an additional irritant for Washington. In the past, the United States has more than once warned Moscow against selling arms to its longstanding ally Syria.

and so on and so on and so on.

Will there ever be peace and longstanding trust between the US and other countries again, or will we become totally owned by China and less and less backed by NATO?
.
the 'average' american does Not spend 100 a day! Many don't even earn much more than that in a week silly!
Where are you coming from!? and I'm not a 'bud' I'm a female, age 24. College educated, have traveled to many different countries, speak three langages. The question was for those who understood.
We are 'owned' by China. NATO is just there. the 'coalition' of so-called 'supporters' is fast disappearing, and those that remain have so few troops in Iraq and Afganistan, that few bother to count them anymore.
How many countries are standing with the United States in Iraq and Afhgnistan? How many countries have a part of this defensive missile system?
How many voluntary allies does Russia have (not customers, but allies, pledged to defend her if attacked)? China?

Yeah, bud, you have it totally backwards.

Well Bush has certainly put the world into camps and that is never a good sign

NATO is still going to be there - it might lose or gain members but - unless the Americans do something really out there we were all hoping to have the US and it's nukes "in" rather than the US being off on it's own doing things without any one around to ask "Is that a good idea - really ?"

The "other" side however is beginning to organize themselves - which might sound good at first - but they are only organizing themselves against a common threat

And that common threat is the US

Russia China Iran Venezuela Syria Lebanon Chile Cuba and others I have missed are all on the unhappy with the US to some degree

And remember that Iran has a big client list for it's oil and none of them have been happy with the idea that their economy might grind to a halt and or die as a result of US bombs on their oil supply

And Iran's list of customers ? China India Pakistan and Turkey

Turkey is a NATO member so them getting mad will likely only involve a nasty letter

India - recently dumped it's government over a US arms deal in a vote of non confidence - The vote that dumped the government was India's communist party - Plus India is an observer State in an intergovernmental org. in which they have played an integral part in with the other members such as China and Russia

Pakistan is - well probably not all that US friendly as they feel that their government was subverted by a US puppet regime

Now India has nukes - Pakistan has nukes and Russia has nukes so does China

Iran has oil Venezuela has oil and Russia has a lot of oil

It could get really ugly if these "camps" go all out

Oil through the roof - China dumps all it's bonds making the US dollar absolutely worthless world wide overnight and the oil producing nations cut production to the point a barrel is now 500 dollars

We were never allies with Syria. Russia has always been a problem with the U.S. Other than that I don't see your point. These are not countries that we would expect anything other than what is happening now. I really think if people would research these countries, they will understand.

Your question, "No other countries are taking chances with the US anymore are they?" is actually a good thing. Do you want America to appear weak to countries like Russia, Syria, Iran, etc? I wish people, would find their own truths about these countries. I truly believe that if people found out on their own about this, they would understand what is really going on here. Please don't rely on the media or people on Y/A's for the truth.
