I gotta admit, I'm curious to see how far they get with it though, I mean, I just ran a copy of litebulletin off localhost, and well, it seems like a vbulletin clone, if they can get away with making a free version, more power to them.

I agree with them. hope all the best of luck to them i mgith change from vb to them in 2010 if its still exist i want to give it sometime to see if its actually worth changing it.
I would also like to see them creating new MOD's for their forum software.

I think its gr8, now maybe vb will get off their high horse, and charge less !!! in my work not vb related, price talks and bullshit walks, if u want less rip or copy cats to fuck with ur biz, lower ur price !!! Its called Capitalist..
I personally bought my vb and have it, for last few years and very happy with it, how ever when i see more and more nulls are out, that only shows one thing, price is too high for avg people!!! after all we all know almost %90 of u legal or not will close ur forum with in the first year.. 3 Reasons run out of money or your host will drop u for been a warez, or not enough traffic and you'll give up..
So my suggestion is go to vb and lease it, this way u only invested like $80 and u are now legal and get upgrades.
Tell me if i am wrong ? guys don't get me wrong, I'm probly one of the largest warez site in the net, how ever at least 2 ppl I don't fuck with, my hosting sever and my script ( vb ) they are the only reason my site is up and running !!!

The problem here is that they are using vBulletin idea's in their 'own' (copied from MyBB) bulletin board. Ehh, this will not work, especially because they will not provide so much support for it, and security risks will be higher.
I would wish them well, if they started from the beginning, like vBulletin did. Supporting vBulletin Skin or Plugin system is a good idea, but the board itself will be just not good.

well see i used to be a hacker and anyone knows that all hackers gotta do is inject sql to drop all mybb databases therefore these guys are even MORE hackable then mybb and phpbb put together
Well they are using MyBB source code which is now GNU GPL v3 licensed which can be used by anyone! Even as far as i know, you do not have to use MyBB as source if you do not want to credit them. Read their full license!

and, did anybody stop to think, that they didnt want to start from scratch.. perhaps mybb had what they wanted, just not quite right... like vb, had what they wanted, but to damn expensive..
we all just use stolen software, call it nulled, and pretend its all good.. at least these guys are attempting to create their own legit answer... i dunno, i think all you guys are bein a little harsh.. we hide underground with our nulls, and they are right out there in the open saying "we wont pay the price, well just do it ourselves" ...
now, if they copy vb code or whatever and get in trouble, thats what they get... cause that would go back to stealing...

Guys, If they are using MYBB source, and the feel and look of Vbulletin, then that's a GREAT WORK, and you should SUPPORT them to develop it, because after all it is FREE, this is GOOD for all of us!!
If there are bugs or security issues, that's Normal, and we have to support them, it is OPEN source, isn't it? This means it is build and maintained BY the community FOR the community!

Yes it's true both management where using nulled versions of vb to but gave up using them because we did not like nulls anymore.
Since this discussion has been become big on much forums.
I'd like to say no worry we got green light of jelsoft their own.
They have according to them nothing in their terms to get us at.

Don't believe it! As soon as you pose a threat any piece of their business, you will find out first hand how much they don't care about you ... They have no problems with your doing all the work then trying to shut you down when you try to release it. They are really not very nice people in that regard.
