At what age can dwarf hamsters begin to mate?

I have two baby dwarf hamsters and it is too soon to determine the gender. I am going to need to separate them if they happen to be of the same gender. I would like to know how much time the two can spend together before they may have to be separated.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and exciting, for this is my first posted question...
they should at least be 8 weeks (fully grown) so that it does not put too much strain on them or stunt their growth.

It depends on what state you are in . In California they have to be 16, but if you live in Tennessee they can be 12.

Greasy fur is a bad sign.
